Services
Southside Foods, our Catering Service provides training in all aspects of catering. We cook lunch for all our trainees every day, as well as producing buffets for customers when requested. We also run two cafes, one in the Maudsley Hospital, Out Patients Department and one in the Southwark Resource Centre off Walworth Road.
SRA was set up to help improve or re-establish work habits for those whose lives have been interrupted by mental illness. This includes accessing adult education, work placements and support to find a job. This training takes place in one of our 3 social enterprises - catering, cleaning, and print, which includes our Copyshop and print finishing. Everyone has an opportunity to become more familiar with IT and develop IT skills.
Cleaning - 'Sweepers', Catering - SRA Caterers, Printing - The Copyshop and also provide help to become more IT literate. Our goal is to help use individual's strengths to recover from illness, to take control of their lives, have more choice, be part of the community and stay well. Providing a structure and getting involved in activities goes a long way to promoting recovery.
One of the advantages of SRA is that they give you a small financial reward every time you attend, great free lunches and hot drinks. While I have been here things have changed for me with support from SRA. Apart from improving my time keeping and managing my time better, I now have a Passport, a Bank Account and a Freedom Pass.
